"The Tommy and Rumble Experience"
I'd like to thank Rick (upper left) of FM.99's "Tommy and Rumble Show" for letting me photograph his family a few weeks back. While I dropped off some prints this morning, the rest of the morning crew; Tommy (lower right), Shelly and Eric tolerated me taking a few snapshots during the show. Thanks again for the morning entertainment!

"Passion's Captain"
For the past 2 weeks it has been my pleasure to work aboard the Passion. I have been working on the Teake decks that were removed so that she could be painted. I have to say that even though the work was hard, the hours long and the material was demanding and tedious to work... I was truly grateful to do real woodwork for awhile (my first love).
Thank you again to Colin and his crew for their hospitality and professionalism during my time on board. I hope to see them soon.

"Jessica's Bass"
I'm sorry that I have ignored you all lately. I have been very busy lately and I look forward to posting more soon.
This is Jessica playing at MacArthur Mall on Sunday. This was the first time that we've seen the Silver Strollers play since she joined. The were great and we are so proud of her. If you have the chance to catch them... go! You'll love them.

"Single Light Portrait"
I was goofing off with some studio lighting. I plopped Courtney down and told her to look down. What you don't see in the picture is that she just jumped out of the shower, has a hat on her head and is in her pj's. I love having live in models that just patronize me so that I can set lights take a quick shot and then let them go to bed.

"Forum Photo"
Most of you all can disregard this post. This is for a discussion that I am in on a forum web site that I frequent.
Now for the discussion; the left photo was taken between flash cycles of my strobes. The natural looking light (on the right) was synthetic. There are no windows in the church at all so working without a flash would have been impossible.

"Band Shadows"
Thank you all who showed interest in the photos shot yesterday at Powhatan Field! I enjoyed the competition and the music was excellent.
I am sorry that the group photos weren't taken (other than Granby) because of poor communication well between us and your schools. However, we still shot well over 1500 individual photos of the competition and these photos and information on how to order prints will be given to your band directors. So, please bug them to make cd's for you to look at and please call me so that I can get your photos to you.
Thanks again. You looked great and the selections you preformed were awesome.

"Photo Debate"
I am posting another copy of a photo I shot last weekend because this shot has spawned a little debate in my house. I printed a copy of the shot you see in the upper left corner and my wife asked "Why is the little girl upside down?" The large shot has no editing done to it at all. It is straight out of the camera and at the angle that I shot it. My opinion is that this is one of those quirky little photos that can almost be used upside down (not shown here). The bottom left shot is another way I could have presented this photo with text in the upper third.
Not that this will cause a big debate in your homes tonight... I just thought it was interesting.

"Future Coach"
"Painting"
This photo was taken at the festival this weekend. I was asked to cover the event by my my in-laws, who are part of the group that runs the event. This was a freebie, but I didn't mind because I made "in-law" points (if you have in-laws... you know what I mean).
I added the text to my original photo frankly so I could see what it would look like. This photo was not blurred at the bottom in editing. It was shot that way. This is one of those little blessings that I get sometimes when I look over my work because the depth of field just screamed out for a lower third ad. Plus I am a little sentimental seeing little girls in pigtails. We did the same thing with both of our daughters.
(I did adjust the black levels and added a vignette and my copyright stamp however no other photoshop techniques were used; other than the text.)
